See that Trans Am right there. That thing went around corners faster than damn anything I have ever ridden in. Little background, my buddy sold me my car, the WRX, and got this Trans Am. LT1 engine, some LS1 bits, Huge radiator up front, needs a tune so it doesn't run the smoothest but it isn't the speed that gets you. As you can see he has corvette wheels on there. He is running Falken something or other 255s up front and then I think nitto NTO 275s in the rear, needless to say there is some meat in the tires. I don't know what else to say other than this thing will haul ass around corners without breaking a sweat, or traction, and is louder than the dickens. I kind of love it.

Very interesting. I've never really thought of a Trans Am/Camaro of that generation as a handling machine. Cool to know it could happen.

Also, great bugeye. I wish mine looked that nice.

He isn't one to do that sort of thing. Plus I think he is trying to sell it

It has a fairly long wheelbase so it is fairly stable and then put big enough sticky tires on the back and that thing is great. Doesn't have insane amounts of power so you can really use all of it

The WS6 I played with was fun. The engine and tranny are awesome to play with once you delete the stupid little skip shift prevention junk. There are a few companies who sell some good race suspension systems for them, but they always have a little imbalance due to the weight distribution and overhangs.

I think the air intakes on the WS6 really made the look mean, and the one I drove was the factory yellow... so it was just that little more over the top. Looked like this one:

Yeah those ones are mean looking. I'm almost positive he has some sort of aftermarket suspension on there. He bought it with everything it has on there so I'm not entirely sure of everything done to it. Felt really solid though

Yeah, my guess would be that he has springs and shocks at least. They don't really handle very well with stock equipment. They were designed for high speed aerodynamics, so there wasn't much concern given to how the geometry ended up laying out with the over hangs and distribution (they are somewhere around 55/45 if I remember right) which makes them a little tail happy and a bit slow to respond to inputs.

They shine at high speeds and straight line pulls.... and looking different than most other cars of the time.
